Cost-effective intersatellite link applications to the fixed satellite services

Potential cost-effective applications of intersatellite links (ISLs) to domestic, regional, and global fixed satellite services are presented, addressing traffic forecast and service demands for the year 2001. To determine the cost advantages and other systems benefits of ISLs, selected satellite network architectures were derived for ISL and corresponding non-ISL systems. The cost analysis was performed using payload sizing based on state-of-the-art ISL technology, both optical and microwave.

Photoelectric observations of the long-period eclipsing binaries at Yonsei University Observatory

A long term project (ten-years; 1982-92) for the photoelectric observation in the UBV passbands of selected eclipsing binaries with P 10 days has initiated at Yonsei University Observatory using 40-cm and 61-cm reflectors. The instrumentation used and the observation techniques and the reduction procedures applied to this investigation are described.

Optimal insensitive-controller synthesis

Proof of two theorems is included in report: local sufficiency condition for existence of insensitive controllers in the case of sufficiently small parameter variations; and necessary condition for optimal controller corresponding to point in boundary of domain of admissible parameter variations to be optimal insensitive controller.
