Surface measurement system development
Abstract
The development of an optical system designed to satisfy the requirements of early deployable concepts such as the LMSC offset wrap rib antenna is reported. The system is relatively lightweight, will measure distance to several targets, and provide data in engineering units in real time. Accuracy of measurements is such that use of the system will permit evaluation of surface quality of large parabolic antenna dishes. Operation of the system was conceptually proven.
