The surface composition of Mars from earthbased observations
Abstract
The current knowledge of the Martian surface from earth-based spectral reflectance observations, and what can (or can not) be determined from orbital reflectance and spectral imaging are discussed. Soils, dust, and primary crustal materials are briefly examined.
