spot_bt v.0.1.1

SAND2024-08430O spot_bt allows users to easily construct complex, autonomous behaviors without having to overly rely on Boston Dynamic’s Spot robot software development kit. Using a form-of-state machine called a "behavior tree," the software develops and applies different "leaves" or actions to the robot. Attaching multiple actions in sequence creates a "branch," and a series of these make up the "tree." The software works on any x86 or aarch64 hardware but must run on a Linux OS. DER Cybersecurity Detection and Response Suite

SAND2024-08475O The Distributed Energy Resource (DER) Cybersecurity Detection and Response Suite is a solution for distributed energy resource (DER) systems. The DER Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) solution that uses alerts from signature- and behavior-based Intrusion Detection Systems are intended to be deployed as bump-in-the-wire (BITW) devices in front of DER equipment. The fielded application would use multiple intrusion detection systems that report data to SOAR to respond to cyberattacks. The suite consists of two software components: • The proactive intrusion detection and mitigation system (PIDMS) secures grid-edge photovoltaic smart inverters and other equipment in distributed energy resource systems. It is a distributed BITW solution; cyber and physical data are automatically processed using network inspection tools and custom machine learning algorithms to detect abnormal events and correlate cyber-physical events. • The Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response for Distributed Energy Resources (SOAR4DER) application ingests data from several intrusion detection systems to quickly block attacks and revert DER systems to good states. Using a collection of intrusion detection system technologies on a BITW device, it incorporates physical and cyber data to detect abnormal and potential malicious behaviors. Multiple SOAR playbooks then use the intrusion detection system data streams to automatically defend the system. SOAR4DER system testing showed detection and response times under 30 seconds for all adversary reconnaissance, denial-of-service attacks, malicious Modbus commands, brute-force logins, and machine-in-the-middle attacks. GenConfig

SAND2025-04091O GenConfig converts a build name into a set of configuration flags or CMake fragment files for use with CMake. This is accomplished using ConfigKeywordParser and two configuration files. GenConfig is the main tool in a set of software libraries used for generating and configuring an environment and configuration flags. The tool uses other modules within the GenConfig family to ultimately parse and enable an environment that is ready for development from a given build name string. The unique algorithms used in GenConfig mainly pertain to validating the format and checking the existence of the given build string in the expected configuration .ini files. CLDERA-E3SM

SAND2025-03846O CLDERA-E3SM enhances the E3SMv2 model by adding new options such as complete stratospheric volcanic aerosol representation and idealized physics model configuration for the atmosphere component. CLDERA-E3SM also allows for aerosol source emission specification, which is a powerful method for tracking aerosol and its climate impacts in E3SMv2. This new code better represents stratospheric sulfate aerosol and includes modifications such as changes to the default aerosol size distributions and to stratospheric aerosol microphysical treatment, which allows stratospheric sulfate aerosol to grow larger than in the default E3SMv2. New aerosol source tagging can be customized to separate the global emission of select aerosol tracers—such as sulfate, black carbon, and organic carbon aerosol—into a new, user specified list of sources. It also includes idealized simulations of the atmosphere and volcanic aerosol tracers.
