High optical transparent two-dimensional electronic conducting system and process for generating same

Hybrid transparent conducting materials are disclosed with combine a polycrystalline film and conductive nanostructures, in which the polycrystalline film is “percolation doped” with the conductive nanostructures. The polycrystalline film preferably is a single atomic layer thickness of polycrystalline graphene, and conductive nanostructures preferably are silver nanowires.

Thickness mapping using multispectral imaging

An example system includes a material transport system configured to transport a substantially planar material through a monitoring zone, an illumination source configured to illuminate at least a portion of the material that is within the monitoring zone with light, and a sensor configured to obtain a plurality of consecutive datasets. Datasets indicate, for locations of the material and for a specific wavelength of light, a respective intensity of the light that is of the wavelength and that is received from the location. The system also includes a processing system configured to receive the dataset, determine, based on the dataset and for each of at least two locations in the plurality of locations, a respective value of a thickness of the material, and execute, based on the respective value of the thickness of the material for at least one of the at least two locations, an action.

FPGA-based computing system for processing data in size, weight, and power constrained environments

Technologies that are well-suited for use in size, weight, and power (SWAP)-constrained environments are described herein. A host controller dispatches data processing instructions to hardware acceleration engines (HAEs) of one or more field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) and further dispatches data transfer instructions to a memory controller, such that the HAEs perform processing operations on data stored in local memory devices of the HAEs in parallel with other data being transferred from external memory devices coupled to the FPGA(s) to the local memory devices.

Adapting Online Fiber Optic Colorimeter Systems for Process Measurements in H Canyon

A filter-based photometric analyzer, commonly referred to as a colorimeter, is an important instrument for monitoring uranium concentrations for nuclear safety control in SRS's H-Canyon facility. These instruments are effective but technologically out of date, and the facility does not have spare instruments on hand. Newly developed spectrophotometers will replace them and be capable of more accurate and reliable performance than the current colorimeters. However, the installation of the spectrophotometers will take some time. To make sure that the H-Canyon facility can continue processing operations and reduce the risk of a colorimeter going out of service, spare colorimeters previously configured for Pu monitoring in HB-Line will be reconfigured and calibrated for uranium. These spare colorimeters are readily available and their operating procedures are already known to the H-Canyon facility. This reconfiguration is an efficient and cost-effective means to meet a facility need. Both instruments have a linear response and accurately measure U over the range of concentrations expected in the H Canyon process. The instruments are functionally identical and can be used interchangeably. Changes of acidity within the expected process range will not introduce a bias in the measurement. Higher acidity solutions result in a positive bias, but this is conservative with respect to maintaining nuclear safety.

Autonomous Frequency-Domain Indentification

Test and data-processing system determines plant models and uncertainties. Integrated system of methods, digital signal-processing, and algorithms identifies parametric model of large, flexible structures. Experiments in development of system conducted on laboratory model intended to represent large space antenna or flexible spacecraft. Also applicable to many terrestrial systems, robust control of dynamic plants and processes, robust control of systems about which knowledge uncertain or incomplete, decentralized control, and knowledge-based control systems.
