The Energy 101: Wind presentation, developed for the Energy Technology Innovation Partnership Project (ETIPP), provides an overview of wind energy. It covers fundamental concepts, technologies, considerations, case studies, and additional resources.
The Glen Canyon Dam (GCD) is a Colorado River Storage Project (CRSP) power resource that is a component of the Salt Lake City Area Integrated Projects (SLCA/IP). The 2016 record of decision (ROD) for the GCD long-term experimental and management plan (LTEMP) final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) specifies criteria for GCD monthly water releases, daily and hourly operating limits, and experimental releases.

Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) has prepared a new set of iodine-bearing sorbents. The sorbent materials used for this activity were supplied by IONEX (NexSorb-99) or C&CS (AC6120-7%). Metal canisters were previously prepared by ORNL in 2022. They are 2 in. long by 1.5 in. in diameter and are made of 316 stainless steel.
This material will be presented at the Interagency Advanced Power Group (IAPG) Chemical Working Group and Safety Panel Meeting. IAPG serves as the premier organization coordinating the collaboration and information exchange of advanced power research and development within the U.S. government.

The mechanism of a pressure-induced quantum critical point in the heavy fermion ferromagnet CeRh 6 Ge 4 has attracted interest, as ferromagnetic quantum criticality in a clean itinerant Ce compound is typically avoided. The localized versus itinerant character of the 4𝑓 electrons is a key aspect for understanding this behavior. We investigated the electronic structure of the 4𝑓 shell in CeRh 6 Ge 4 using core-level photoelectron and x-ray absorption spectroscopy, demonstrating the hybridization of Ce 4𝑓 with the conduction electrons. Linearly polarized x-ray absorption reveals a temperature-dependent linear dichroism consistent with the crystal-electric-field sequence as inferred from the static susceptibility. This dichroism cannot be described by an ionic full-multiplet model alone, but is reproduced by including the Kondo effect within a single-impurity Anderson model in the noncrossing approximation. The Kondo effect mixes higher-lying crystal-field states into a resulting multiorbital ground state with 4𝑓 occupancy, 𝑛 𝑓 ∼ 0.9. Deviations at low temperatures between the measured linear dichroism and calculated dichroism suggest an orbital-dependent Kondo effect. A scenario in which there is a multiorbital ground state and orbital-dependent Kondo hybridization should be a starting point for a model of pressure-induced criticality in CeRh 6 Ge 4 .

This study evaluates the long-term hygrothermal durability of four advanced retrofit wall systems using a field test facility located in Hollywood, South Carolina, representative of a mixed-humid coastal climate (Zone 3). The research focuses on assessing the thermal and moisture performance of a baseline wall assembly retrofitted with (1) Tremco/Dryvit prefabricated panel systems (Revitalite and Fedderlite), (2) Reinforced Fiberglass Plastic (RFP) panels developed by Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), and (3) Vacuum Insulated Panels (VIP) integrated with EPS by Home Innovation Research Labs (HIRL) and ORNL. A baseline wall representing a typical uninsulated wood-frame construction was used for comparison.
Nonlinear viscoelastic model calibrations are developed for two filled epoxies: an adduct of Epon 828 DGEBA and CTBN cross-linked with diethanolamine (DEA) filled with glass microballoons, called 828-CTBN/DEA/GMB, and Epon 828 DGEBA cross-linked with Ancamine Z and filled with alumina, called 828/Z/AlOx. The thermo-mechanical responses of these materials are represented using the SPECtacular constitutive model, an extension of the Simplified Potential Energy Clock (SPEC) model. The model couples

This article examines how water (H₂O) and carbon dioxide (CO₂) interact with two classes of ion-exchange sorbents — a primary amine sorbent and a quaternary ammonium (QA⁺) sorbent — using calorimetry, thermal gravimetric analysis, gas analysis, and molecular modeling. Here, the QA⁺ sorbent exhibits stronger binding to both H₂O and CO₂ but also shows thermal stability limitations. Mixed-gas experiments reveal that humidity strongly influences CO₂ uptake and that moisture-driven sorbent regeneration enables cyclic moisture swing CO₂ capture, with implications for low-energy CO₂ separation from dilute gas streams.
